Mini Lesson 3: The REAL Underlying Cause of Peripheral Neuropathy
Actual Causes - What's Really Going On
Compromised microcirculation it the primary cause as this leads to nerve damage.
Any one or combination of the factors listed in the last email can lead to compromised blood supply to vital tissues including the tiny peripheral nerves. It is this reduction in blood supply that ultimately causes virtually all cases of peripheral neuropathy.
If the obstruction is local or focused in just one extremity then only the circulation and nerves in that extremity will be impacted. If the underlying problem is systemic (whole body) such as with diabetes, the damage will likewise be systemic. Typically the feet are impacted first and later the hands.
As the tiny capillaries of the microcirculatory system (which accounts for 99% of the entire circulation) become damaged, the tiny nerve fibers that rely on them for nutrients begin to dysfunction leading to the variety of unpleasant symptoms previously discussed. Eventually, these nerves become so starved of vital nutrients that they begin to die leading to numbness and an inability to tell where the foot is and when it is touching something. It progresses to the point where a person could step on a nail and not even feel it.
When you understand that the ultimate cause has to do with damaged circulation you realize that the only way to restore proper nerve function is to first restore circulation.
Be sure to read the next installment that goes over the various typical treatment options out there. Do they work? I have spent years looking into the treatments available and I will share what I have learned. Tomorrow: Do Standard Neuropathy Treatments Work?
All of HEALTH, Chronic Health Challenges, and Healing can be boiled down to the 4Ms:
The Microcirculation delivers oxygen & ALL Nutrients to the cells & the Mitochondria.
The Mitochondria make almost ALL the Energy needed to run our Metabolism.
The Metabolism CONTROLS ALL Life Processes.
The Muscles are our primary Metabolic Reserve; Muscles are our primary drivers that build & preserve the Microcirculation & Mitochondria!
